Summary:
This is a one-year fellowship of combined clinical and research training. At the end of the year, fellows will understand the acute and chronic complications of SCD and strategies for management with a focus on newer therapies. There will be exposure to the use of hematopoietic stem cell transplantation and gene therapy in SCD, hemoglobin diagnostics, and SCD clinical trials. Each fellow will conduct a mentored research project under the guidance of an established investigator in SCD.
Eligibility:
MD or DO; one or more of the following: a) Residency training in Internal Medicine or Medicine/Pediatrics b) Fellowship training in adult or pediatric Hematology (with or without Oncology)
