2022 State of the Science in Transfusion Medicine (SoS in TM) Symposium

The 2022 State of the Science in Transfusion Medicine (SoS in TM) Symposium will be held virtually on August 29, 2022 from 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM EDT, and on August 30, 2022 from 10:00 AM - 3:30 PM EDT.

The goal of the symposium is to identify research priorities, that if addressed in the next 3-10 years, would increase and diversify the volunteer blood donor pool, identify which blood products from which donors would best match the needs of specific recipient populations, and help ensure safe and effective transfusion strategies.

Research priorities will be identified as follows:
1) establishing and having working groups identify research priorities in specific areas (see below) by regular conference calls prior to the virtual symposium;
2) presentation of these research priorities at the virtual symposium, incorporating input from the audience; and
3) finalization of priorities and development of a report.
